By 2017, The Barrister Group had outgrown their off-the-shelf case management system. As is often the case with one-size-fits-all software, it was bloated with irrelevant features, slow to use, and poorly aligned with their real-world needs.
Diary coordination was cumbersome, invoicing took too long, and every new user required extensive training. Growth was capped - unless they hired more staff.
The Barrister Group approach morphsites to build a custom web app that:
morphsites worked side by side with clerks, barristers, and leadership to define a tailored vision for Chambers 365. We began with a discovery workshop to map their precise workflows and built a modular system that matched the firm’s real needs instead of generic features.
The platform launched in late 2019, with continuous improvements through 2025. It was designed to integrate deeply with Office 365—users log in with Microsoft credentials and see synced Outlook calendars, emails, tasks, and contacts. A back-end connects to Xero for accounting, Mailchimp for marketing, and third-party tools for video conferencing, travel, payments, and more—thanks to full API support.
Smart diary features alert staff to schedule overlaps or nearby availability, enabling quick, informed case assignments. A one-click workflow automates bookings, invoice generation, pro forma documents, and credit notes. The dashboard provides instant insight into caseloads, billing performance, and compliance status.
Since launch, The Barrister Group has seen dramatic change: their caseload has quadrupled while staff numbers remained the same. Diary operations and bookings are now automated—reducing what used to take minutes into just seconds. Invoice reconciliation and billing are handled with a single click.
Admins and barristers praise the simplicity of one-click booking and automatic reminders. Because compliance features were built in from day one, Chambers 365 remains future-ready for HMRC and open-banking requirements.
In May 2023, LDC (part of Lloyds Banking Group) invested in the business, citing the platform’s financial robustness and process efficiency.
