Why not give us a call and see how we can help you with your project?
01460 984284Every strong digital project starts with one thing: understanding the problem. Discovery is where that happens. It's the structured process we use to learn about your business, define what success looks like, and map the most effective route to get there.
Clients often come to us asking for a new website, a customer portal, or an e-commerce platform. But those things are the result of Discovery, not the start. The real starting point is uncovering the challenges you want to solve, the systems that hold you back, and the opportunities that could move your business forward.
That is why Discovery sits at the heart of how we work. It is what allows us to avoid guesswork, prevent costly mistakes, and build something that genuinely works for your customers and your team.
Discovery is a deep, collaborative phase at the beginning of a digital project. It is part research, part workshop, and part technical planning.
Together we identify the problems, explore the options, and define a clear digital plan that leads to the right website, web app, e-commerce system, or digital marketing strategy.
It's not a box-ticking exercise. It is not about making things look pretty. And it is not for those who just want a brochure website or a quick refresh.
What happens in a Discovery? (Tabs)?
We review your business model, competitors, and existing systems.
We discuss your goals, customers, pain points, and opportunities.
We map workflows, integrations, and any barriers to success.
We produce a clear report outlining what needs to be done, why, and how.
The outcome is a practical, actionable roadmap. It defines priorities, budgets, and feasibility, giving you a solid foundation for any future development or marketing.
Some clients use that roadmap to move forward with us. Others use it to brief internal teams or other partners. Either way, Discovery leaves you with clarity and direction.
When you skip Discovery, you risk building the wrong thing, solving the wrong problem, or spending more than you need to.
When you do it properly, you gain insight, alignment, and confidence in your next steps.
It helps everyone understand and agree:
This is where good projects become great.
Digital tools play their part, but Discovery relies on human understanding, listening, questioning, reasoning, and applying wisdom where it counts.
We use data and AI where it helps us be efficient, but the heavy thinking, the insight, and the understanding come from people.
We listen. We question. We challenge assumptions.
And we use human judgement to make sure digital decisions make sense for your business, your customers, and your market.
Digital thinking, human validated.
We tailor Discovery to match the scale and goals of each project, but broadly there are three levels, depending on your requirements:
For digital marketing and lead generation
For complex or integrated systems and web apps
For ambitious digital transformation projects
For smaller businesses and startups
The deliverables vary depending on which Discovery you choose.
Every Discovery includes a strategic report detailing your goals, insights, high-fidelity sitemap and recommendations.
From there, additional outputs may include:
Each Discovery is scoped so you get what you need, no more and no less.
Discovery works best for companies that:
It is especially effective for businesses where decision-makers are still actively involved and want a meaningful return on their digital spend.
What does a Discovery cost?
Costs vary depending on the project’s scope. Nano Discoveries are designed for smaller businesses, while technical and full projects scale to suit complex requirements.
Prices start from £5,000.
How long does it take?
Typically between 4 and 6 weeks after completion of workshop sessions, depending on how much research or workshop time is required.
What do I get at the end?
At minimum, a strategic report detailing your goals, insights, sitemap and recommendations. Depending on your Discovery type, you may also receive a roadmap, wireframes, user journeys, competitor research, or technical documentation.
Do I need to visit your offices?
We prefer to meet face to face. Discovery is about people, and meeting in person helps us understand your business better.
You can come to our offices in Somerset, UK, or we can come to you, wherever you are in the world*. In many cases, visiting your site gives us valuable context about how your business operates.
*Additional travel costs may apply.
Can I use the output to brief another agency?
Yes. Discovery gives you an independent strategy and specification. You own the results and can use them however you choose.
Does Discovery include brand strategy and visual identity?
No. Discovery focuses on digital strategy — understanding your business, mapping user journeys, defining technical requirements, and planning how your website or platform will perform.
We work with a trusted group of brand partners to deliver brand strategy and visual identity work where needed, and we coordinate closely with them during the process.
