If you have ever put a nail in the wall using the heel of a shoe, or used a butter knife as a screwdriver, you’ll know that just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Results may vary and it’s always best to use the right tool for the job.

True, it may mean searching through the shed or garage, behind stacks of bikes, lawnmowers and other detritus (or perhaps that’s just me), or perhaps even a trip to B&Q on a bank holiday Monday to buy the tool you need. Both of these things are a pain and might come at a price.

But as we’ve already said, making a success of PPC requires hard work and isn’t easy. If you don’t make the investment in proper keyword planning, using the right tools to do it, you might as well save yourself a whole load of time, expense and hassle and just not bother at all.

At the very least, get someone else to help you. That’s what I normally do with DIY. Mainly because those paid professionals will have the right tools for the job AND know how to use them. And clean up after themselves. And finish the job. Properly. And…you get the point.
