Kelways is one of the oldest and most highly regarded names in British Horticulture. Established in 1851, this nursery in Somerset has become world renowned as a grower and supplier of peonies and irises. A regular exhibitor at the Chelsea Flower Show, 2013 saw Kelways as one of only three companies left who exhibited at the inaugural show in 1913.

Kelways had been running an eCommerce operation for a number of years before we began talking with Managing Director Dave Root in October 2011. He had lofty goals for the site and increasing revenue from online sales, but after an analysis of the existing site and marketing strategy, we felt confident we could help.

Without a doubt, Kelways is one of our most tangible success stories. In a little over a year, site visits have rocketed from around 7,000 per month (a healthy figure to begin with) to over 20,000. This stellar performance can be attributed to a number of factors - the site was built using our morphCMS eCommerce platform, which is designed from the ground up to perform well in search engines and making online purchasing quick and simple.

However, no matter how good the engine, it still needs a passionate driver to get the most out of it. In this case, the driver was the Dave root and his team, with morphsites providing the support role. With ongoing refinements to both functionality and design, plus regularly updated content, email marketing campaigns and social media initiatives, the results have been a significant increase in sales revenue despite poor weather and a general downturn in the industry.

We meet with Kelways on a monthly basis and work with them in continuing this success.
